Webinar recording: How might industry placements work for Construction roles within your organisation

This webinar was delivered on 18 November 2021.

An industry placement is an extended period of structured time that a student spends in your workplace, developing real skills and making a meaningful contribution to your organisation.

What might this look like in the current circumstances?

Many employers have already been offering industry placements, which will be a fundamental part of T Levels – a new course designed by employers that follows GCSEs, which combines classroom learning with a substantial placement (at least 315 hours).

In this 1 hour online session, we gave an overview for employers who want to know more about industry placements in construction and explore how they might support workforce development.

The webinar refers to employer incentive payments for offering T Level industry placements. These  payments are only available for industry placements that started between 27 May 2021 and 31 July 2022.

The webinar also refers to industry placement flexibilities. The information about delivery approaches was updated in January 2023 and is contained in the delivery guidance. This guidance replaces the information given in the webinar.
