Placements in Practice is a practical employer-to-employer series with separate sessions for employers new to hosting and existing hosts looking to grow, scale and/or improve their T Level industry placement offer. Each 1-hour session brings employers together around a relevant topic, with an experienced employer sharing practical experience and space to ask questions and learn from one another.

Exploring T Level industry placements or preparing to host for the first time?

Hear how other employers got started, discuss what hosting could look like in your organisation and ask questions about preparing a first placement. Take away practical ideas to help you plan your next steps.

This is not a formal training course or policy briefing. The focus is on practical solutions, honest experience and useful connections that help make industry placements work for the business as well as the student. Employers can bring a question, listen to others or share their own experience.

What you will gain:

• Practical insight into how employers prepared for and hosted their first placement.
• Ideas for planning a placement that fits their organisation, workforce and capacity.
• A supportive space to ask first-time hosting questions and identify next steps.
• Signposting to relevant Industry Placement resources and support.
• Clear follow-up where a question needs a policy or programme answer that cannot be resolved live.

Who is this event for?

Employers exploring T Level industry placements or preparing to host their first student. No previous hosting experience is needed.

Business leaders, HR/early careers colleagues, line managers, placement supervisors and others responsible for making placements work in practice.

Note: This session is not available to T Level schools or colleges unless specifically invited as a contributor.
